A parliamentary voice for the Pacific

The Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (PIPA) is the regional inter-parliamentary organisation bringing together parliaments and legislative assemblies from across the Pacific. It provides a permanent framework in which parliamentarians can exchange experience, develop common perspectives on regional challenges, and strengthen the contribution of legislative assemblies to Pacific regional and international affairs.

PIPA was formally established on 28 August 2025 in Natadola, Fiji, by eleven founding legislative assemblies — marking the transition from several years of cooperation within the Pacific Islands Parliaments Group (PIPG) to a permanent regional institution.

“Created by the Pacific, owned by the Pacific, for the Pacific”

Today, PIPA carries a distinct parliamentary voice in Pacific regionalism — a space dedicated to legislative assemblies, alongside the regional organisations led by executive governments, to give voice to the priorities of Pacific peoples.
