PIPA’s operational backbone, the Secretariat advises, coordinates, and implements the day-to-day decisions of the General Assembly and the Board.

Its missions

The Secretariat runs PIPA’s day-to-day operations, balancing institutional support and operational management.

Advises and supports

Members and the Board; coordinates the organisation of General Assembly and Board meetings, and prepares agendas and documentation.

Implements decisions

Executes adopted decisions, including resolutions, when they apply to the functioning of PIPA.

Manages the budget

Under the authority of the Board; tracks the implementation of decisions and resolutions, in close cooperation with members’ Secretaries General.

Records & communication

Maintains PIPA’s records, coordinates communication (including online), manages events and activities, and provides PIPA’s technical and logistical functions.

A network beyond the central Secretariat

PIPA’s Secretariat relies on the secretariats of each member assembly, particularly when organising events.

A transitional phase

During the period of creation of PIPA’s governance structures, the PIPG Secretariat acts as the interim Secretariat of PIPA.

During the transitional period before PIPA becomes a full-fledged regional treaty-based organisation, the Assembly of French Polynesia provides operational support to the Secretariat.
